Sorry for the time constraints, I'm having a lot of soreness with my manual fill in and want to replace my pump ASAP. I tried to win a PIS on Ebay but they are going for more then I can currently afford.

I need some info on the Playtex Embrace, Ameda Purely Yours vs the PIS.

I'm considering buying from the MothersMilkBreastfeedingSupply seller on Ebay, since I get telephone consultations from her (she's an LC) for free if I buy the pump viz her, and that makes the cost worth it. She doesn't sell the PIS, though, just the other 2.

I am using the SoftFit shields on my Medela, and I like them because they reduce soreness, *but* they lose suction more easily and don't let me combine hand expression with them like the hard shells do. I have no idea what to expect from the PE or the APY regarding the flanges.

I am also tempted to spring for the PE because I can use the dropins that we like so much and reduce how much bottle cleaning and sterilizing I am having to do currently. But, the APY is $30 cheaper, and for the $179 price of the PE I know I can get a PIS off Ebay.

With all the problems I have had, I think having an LC willing to do unlimited phone consultations could be a godsend. On the other hand, just having a better pump might solve a lot of my problems, in which case the $$ might be better spent going ahead and getting the PIS.

Please help, I'm driving myself crazy and I'm about to cry over spending the money in the first place.

Edited to ad: The PIS I would consider is the one with the letdown mode, I loved that on the Symphony I had rented. I think it's the Advance. crossposted
